How to satisfy blog readers and promote your business
How do you satisfy readers of your blog while simultaneously promoting your business? Yes, you have the blog as a method of boosting your business but that is not going to make your blog riveting for readers. If you focus on selling your product/service in your blog, it’s unlikely anybody will want to read the blog. If you don’t promote/sell your product/service in your blog, then there’s no point in blogging.
My aim in Business Blog Boost is to offer you guidance gained from my real life experience in blogging for my travel business. I will illustrate how I provide my readers with posts which are informative, interesting and entertaining combined with my aim of boosting my business.
Yesterday I had a local day out and wrote about this trip with accompanying photos in a blog post. This post is in alignment with my travel business aims of helping you see more of the real Europe by getting off the beaten track. The post contains relevant links to two of my destination guides, North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders as the villages Ford and Etal are in Northumberland and Coldstream is in the Scottish Borders. If readers found these destinations appealing they may book accommodation there through my travel site. So that’s my aim of promoting my business addressed.
The reader can admire the photos in the post and/or get some inspiration for a day out or short break. I also included a link to the Ford and Etal website with more information about what to do and see in the area. I believe that my blog should contains links to useful, relevant information so my blog is perceived as a useful resource to readers. Readers will hold your blog in higher regard, in that you offer added value to them, beyond just trying to sell your own product and service. I also included a link to a recipe for the takeaway meal, that I ate for my picnic, again adding value for the reader. Second aim of the post being informative, interesting and entertaining achieved.
Every time you write a post you have to do your best to satisfy your readers and promote your business. Not every post I write has links to my site e.g. I may write a post about an new airline route and I’m not in line to make any money from ticket sales. However I am providing relevant information of potential interest and utility to my readers which makes them more likely to become loyal readers of my blog.
